Sun Bleached oil....in the Sun.
Many Edges and Tangles....The under painting is beginning to come alive with color & contrast at the very base of this curly canvas piece.

Finally back in front of my easle........

Well it's been a while.....since i last i painted. It has taken  awhile for creativity to awaken here in this new location ~ being busy & all- trying to Make Bank & $urvive.

But these last few days I have had a chance to continue on "The  Painting"..an untitled piece as of yet. Been mulling around "A View Worth Protecting"..a humble nod towards the U.S. National Park Service.

Anyways...Sometimes PAINTING is UNPAINTING. I can't tell you how often I pull the paint OFF the canvas while creating a particular effect or look.

Here i am creating a cloud spatter ~ by pulling off the oil paint that is still wet but set.  I am painting in layers. There was an under-painting underneath that will stay there as i do this.
(I am using turpentine and cotton swab and a small scrubby worn brush).

Last tube of my favorite Oil Color

So - I am cleaning up the old paint tubes from my dad- & I find this old tube of pink/salmon color oil paint - Not from a major manufacturer - but from a small chain " House Paint " store.... that used to exist in the Valley called Standard Brands.

When I turned the tube over I saw the price-

A Buck 99 !
Made in Japan.

Prices today are so very high compared to the 1970's. ---  I  Love this color- It is similar to another color I also loved called- Matisson Pink . A color that is no longer made anymore.

Blank Canvas I made....

This is one of the canvas's I made a while back - while waiting to be able to paint again....What to paint on it??? Not sure- but i love it's shape.

Pyro Canvas in progress below:

Underpainting....

Paint to canvas!

 I love the buttery paint.

What to Paint?

I gave myself a goal- a project.
I used to do well at competitions- I found one in Yosemite that i think I could spread my wings doing.

It basically is a view from the roadside- A view of what you see when you go there. The canvas is shaped like the National Park Service Arrowhead shaped Icon/Logo.

What you will see here is my progress on this painting. Here is a photo of the sketch on the canvas.
